Retreats
Here at Campfire Bay, we love hosting events! We strive to make your crafting, business, quilting, or scrapbooking retreat just what you imagine. Fun? Check. Productive? Check. Peaceful? Check. Whatever your group size or goal is, we have the perfect accommodations for you.
Scrapbooking, quilting, and knitting groups, churches, and small to large businesses have all made Campfire Bay Resort their retreat destination. Because we are a year-round resort and live on the property, we are always available to serve you and help make your time away goals a reality.
Retreat Accommodations
Each of our cabins and the gathering room in the lodge have full kitchens for meal prep, but if you prefer not to cook, we can refer you to several caterers in the area. We have two meeting spaces outside of our cabins, the lodge Gathering Room and the Rec Center, but many groups just meet in their cabins. *Birch and Cedar are a side-by-side duplex that can be rented together and opened up to accommodate up to 16 tables comfortably. These are great for smaller craft retreats, business retreats, or spiritual retreats that don't want to leave the cabin!
The Rec Center is a popular choice for larger groups that wish to have more space for their meetings, banquets, or activities.
Important Retreat Information
Groups with over 8 people should choose to rent both Cedar and Birch cabins or instead work in the lodge. Remember, if renting more than one cabin you need to apply the rental rates for each cabin.
Lodge guests are given a key to the lodge gathering room and have access to the building 24/7 while here. There is an additional $50 (plus tax) fee for the entire weekend to meet in the lodge if staying with us. If not staying at Campfire Bay Resort, the lodge rental fee is $125 (plus tax) per day.
Tables are 6ft long and our chairs are 21 inches wide and have 4 1/2 inch thick padded seats for your comfort.

Crafting supplies are stored in the lodge and can be checked out by guests for crafting retreats, business retreats, or even spiritual retreats (art therapy anyone?). Cricuts, Cricut cartridges, printers, sewing machines, irons, ironing boards, cutters, punches, and stamps are just some of the items available. You can reserve items ahead of time or just pick out what you want during regular office hours. We also have many supplies for purchase.
Most cabins include satellite TVs and DVD players, whirlpool tub, in-floor heat in the workroom (no cold tootsies!), plenty of outlets, and gas or electric fireplaces. See cabin pages for exact amenities.
Retreat Rates
Our crafting, business, quilting, and scrapbooking retreat rates are just the cabin's cost plus the lodge and/or rec (if renting them as well). Divide the total cost of the cabin by the number of people in your cabin, and that is each person's cost. Visit each cabin's page to view the rates for that cabin or check out our rate chart for all cabins. Call 218-575-2432 or email us for a quote based on your number of people.
Check-in times:
Normal year round check-in is 3pm. Guests can come as early as 1pm if no one is in the cabin before them and even earlier if they pay an early check-in fee (after 10am is $40 and after 11:30am is $20). Please let us know if you would like to come earlier than 3pm and call or email a couple of days before your reservation date to confirm what the check-in time is.
Check-out times:
Summer check-out of cabins is 9am. Lodge Gathering Room check out can be much later. Any time the rest of the year cabin check-out is 11am. If no one is coming into the cabin that day, then it can be as late as 5pm. Please check with us prior to making your departure plans as to what your check out time needs to be.
Crafting Resources
Old Creamery Quilt Shop (located in Randall so only 15 minutes away) offers a variety of patterns, fabric, notions, yarn and more! Check out their website to view the products online. Other options include Joann Fabrics in Baxter/Brainerd (about 35 minutes away). Crafts Direct in St. Cloud (about an hour away) is a huge store and a great resource for various craft supplies!
