Things to Do
There are soooo many things to do at Campfire Bay Resort and on Fish Trap Lake! Whether you love to be active or just relax, we've got you covered. Whether you like to be outside or inside, we've got lots of options. Organized activities? Check. Boat rentals? Check. Things to do rain or shine? Check! We try to have something for everyone!
Resort Activities
Every week starting Memorial Day weekend until Labor Day weekend we have fun-filled activities scheduled one to two times a day. While we have new things to do every year, there are some favorites our returning guests expect each time they come back! Perennial favorites include:
Tie-Dye Activity
We get all funky with tie-dye on Sunday afternoons. We have many items to dye available for purchase at cost, from pillow cases, to shirts, to bags, bandanas, and more! You can also bring your own items to dye, but they must be 100% cotton as synthetics do not dye well. We will guide you step by step how to achieve amazing tie dye designs so that you come away with a groovy souvenir of your stay!
Pop Bottle Rockets!
We have a blast shooting off our homemade rockets one morning. It's one of our guests' favorite things to do at Campfire Bay Resort! We meet in the lodge and CBR staff guide you in how to build the best rocket from recycled materials, and then we have a fun tournament to see whose rocket goes the highest! There are delicious prizes for the top 3 winners and even something for all participants!
Woodworking Activity
We make everything from shelves to bird houses another morning and walk you through step by step how to do it. You'll leave with a project to use or enjoy for years to come, and the memories along with it!
Painting Things
From the project made in woodworking class to ceramics to wooden objects and creatures to bags and shirts--take a break to be creative and paint to your heart's content!
Jewelry-Making
We make all kinds of cool beautiful jewelry using a variety of mediums from plastic to leather to sterling silver. Like the painting activity, this is more of a time to create whatever you want! However, CBR staff is on hand to help guide you, give advice, and even help finish your project if you need it.
Nature Day
One of our personal favorite things to do is enjoy nature outdoors, so want to share that with you! Think scavenger hunts, minnow races, and crafts that help you enjoy, appreciate, and even learn about the beautiful area we live in.
